Last Sunday, Liverpool, a football club, was greeted in Thailand by hundreds of fans. Many hoped to catch a glimpse of their press conference.
Some fans waited more than six hours for the team. Two hours before their flight was supposed to land, hundreds were already waiting outside the airport.
When Klopp and his players were ready to leave the airport, there were well over a thousand fans there.
A number were 50 yards away and probably didn’t get the best view. Others stood in the central reservation to wave to Liverpool as they left, the noise from the main crowd of supporters following them.
The event became chaotic when the press conference table was set up. Fans ignored the barriers in the frenzy, and officials had to step in to calm the frenzied fans.
Jürgen Klopp, the coach, said, “I have never been to a press conference like this. Thank you for the really warm welcome. It is only my second time in Thailand.”
Manchester United, Liverpool’s rival, had arrived a day before and experienced the same warm welcome. The club said, “Thank you for having us, Bangkok-we felt your passionate support throughout our stay.”
One of the players said, beaming, “They are amazing, and we love seeing them here. We say thanks a lot to them, and it will be great to see more of them at the match.” Both teams have made it very clear they are grateful for the two warm welcomes.
Liverpool and Manchester United have a match coming up, and while it seems uncertain who will win, both teams appreciate the support their fans give them and will certainly work hard to win.
