Diego Maradona was an Argentine football player and manager with a prosperous career ahead of him. However, he tragically died of a heart attack in November, 2020, at the age of 60. Now, some people are beginning to question if it is the medical staff who were guilty of
reckless manners and insufficient treatment, leading to homicide.
Judges have concluded that the famous sports-star would have had a better chance of surviving “with adequate treatment in an appropriate medical facility.”. The athlete’s neurosurgeon, his personal doctor, his psychiatrist and psychologist, two doctors, two nurses, and their boss will be facing charges that includes murder, [and knowing that the athlete may die, but not doing anything about it].
Their charges can hold sentences in jail for about 8-25 years, but the time of the trial has not been decided yet.
Maradona’s son’s lawyer, Mario Braudry, claimed that the situation was “helpless,”, and that
there was nothing that people could have done to save the young footballer.
He also claimed that “It was homicide, I fought for a long time and here we are, with this stage
completed.”
Maradona’s doctor was interviewed soon after Maradona’s death, saying that he had done
everything he could to save his friend.
“I had done everything I could, up to the impossible,” He had said during the interview.
However, for now, Maradona is still mourned worldwide, as “probably the greatest player ever
to have graced the pitch,”, but was, sadly, taken before his time.
