Bilal Coulibaly, an eighteen-year-old French basketball player, held up his white Wizards jersey to the cameras. The number? No. 0. The first Agent Zero since Gilbert Arenas in 2010.
When he was in a news interview, he was wearing a black-checkered coat with a diamond chain and a matching wrist cuff. Coulibaly held an easy smile and told the world that he’s the new Agent Zero.
When asked what the number meant to him, Coulibaly said, “I know Agent Zero was the last one to wear that, and all the respect to him. I had a great year last year with that number. I hope that continues.”
Coulibaly is young, and needs much work on much of his practicing and shooting. Additionally, he has limited professional experience. Coulibaly is 6 ‘6 and weighs 195 lbs, after his growth spurt at age 16. He also has a 7-2 wingspan. Coulibaly would need an exorbitant amount of calories to keep up with the demanding NBA physical schedule. It would take a lot of developing, and Washington isn’t exactly known for developing its young players. Will Dawkins even described him as a “a ball of clay.”
Despite this, Coulibaly has a great deal of potential. Many scouts got excited when seeing his frame and impressive defensive stance. Not to mention his ball handling, skill set, and young energy.
