My bike camp starts every week, Monday through Thursday, at 9:15am and ends at around 12pm. The organizers split the kids up into a few different groups. Here’s what happened in the past week.
Monday was a very hard day. We biked halfway up a hill, then did 1-minute sprints (pushing as hard as you can) and took a 30 second break for a total of 6 times. After we did all that, we headed back to a park and we made bracelets, necklaces, and other accessories from bike chain parts. That was it for the day.
Tuesday was a lot more fun and there wasn’t as much work that needed to be done. We went on a scavenger hunt looking for random items on the mountain. Our group didn’t do the best out of everyone but we had the most fun and I’m pretty sure that’s all that matters.
On Wednesday, we climbed up a 2.5 mile concrete road that was pretty steep. Then I went down a very rocky and long trail. The coach let me and a friend go ahead and we waited a few minutes for them each time we made it to the place the coach wanted us to stop. This day was really fun and it was a lot better than I had first anticipated.
Thursday was the toughest day we had this week. We climbed up the same hill we did on Monday but instead of doing what we had done on Monday, we biked up halfway, did 7-100 yard sprints on bikes (took us about 2 minutes each time) and when we were finished, we biked the rest of the way up the hill. It was a very hard and exhausting day, but I’m glad I pushed through the day and never stopped.
