Astronomers have discovered a super-fast star which can orbit a black hole in record time.
The star is called S4716, it orbits by the black hole Sagittarius A in the center of our galaxy, the Milky Way.
Researchers have found that it takes four years for the star to orbit the black hole, which is a new record.
Dr. Florin Peissker said, “For a star to be in stable orbit so close and fast in the vicinity of a supermassive black hole was completely unexpected and marks the limit that can be observed with traditional telescopes.”
