On July 22, Prince George was shown celebrating his ninth birthday in a photo published by the royal family’s Twitter account. George is third in line to inherit Britain’s throne, and is smiling ear-to-ear in the photo. The children of the royal family are not often seen in public or in the media. However, the family attended many public functions to celebrate the queen’s Platinum Jubilee this June.
George was born on July 22, 2013, at London’s St. Mary’s Hospital, and was christened a few months later. Most recently, George was seen at the men’s Wimbledon tennis final, where he was seated in the royal box with his family.
George’s father, Prince William, turned 40 in June. His younger sister, Princess Charlotte, turned seven in May. The youngest of the royal family, Prince Louis, turned four in April.
